Are you constantly struggling with the perfect gift for the guy who has everything? Does he converse his praise of the gift, but never uses it or gives it to someone else? If so, you need to go around your gift giving approach and get back to basics.

One reason a guy puts your gift in the "do not use pile", is that it does not make a connection to his contemporary wellbeing or lifestyle. With a small plotting, your gift will be the best bestow he has expected in a long time.

Look for a new project he has putting time into, like the basement bar or a new game room and look for items that fit within the theme of his new area. If he is a sports buff, an ancient vintage clock or neon sign of his favorite team might be a nice touch above the beer glasses or kegerator.

Whether football, hockey or baseball is his thing, your gifts will be well expected if it makes the game room more in line with his character and wellbeing. Of course you may have already given him a tie or a mug, but a decoration he can show with pride in his man space will be much more meaningful.

Looking at a wall clock or beer sign with the ancient NHL, NFL or MLB logos can make a sense of nostalgia when the Babe was crowned king of baseball and the Steel Curtain ruled the grid iron. His like of football or baseball will help carry the momentum of your gift into his heart.

If the Bar has an Irish or English Pub feel to it, you can find ancient time Posters or Plank paintings of rugby or cricket matches to go on his wall. Whatever gift you choose to wrap up for him, if it works well with his like of sports and his like for beer.

Whatever his interest, your gifts will be much more valued than a tie or new shirt as long as you find a touch that aligns with his project.
